Rockwool Gripper

A robotic gripper conceptualized, designed, manufactured and assembled by me

Prototype gripper for handling d=2000x1000x200 mm m=80 kg rockwool slabs. Constraints for design: Total weight under 50 kg, Dimensions: 1200x600x400 mm, 2 sleds with 4 sets of needles each, Needles need to penetrate at least 100 mm into the rockwool at an angle of 45 degrees. Designed with upgradability for cameras and sensors, and ease of manufacturing in mind. Manufactured using a laser cutter, manual sheet metal bender, a band saw and a drill press.
